About Us
Established in October 2014, the Wells-Rapp Center for Mallet Percussion Research is a collection of information documenting the careers of several of the finest mallet percussion artists from the early to mid-twentieth century as well as a diverse collection of rare mallet percussion instruments gathered for the purpose of creating a legacy collection for future generations.

The CMPR exists for the following purposes:
The CMPR will acquire, curate, catalog, store, maintain, and enable public access at the highest level to an archival collection of rare instruments and related archival materials documenting the history of mallet percussion.
The CMPR will collaborate with researchers, performers, institutions and organizations as well as produce programs and events celebrating the history of mallet percussion instruments.
The CMPR will engage the community with outreach events and diverse educational programming.
The CMPR will create engaging exhibits that seek to inform a wide cross-section of the public.
The CMPR will continually work to make available online the majority of its collections and information.
